An Advanced Search finds records using keywords located anywhere in a record
or, if specified, in specific fields (e.g., author field, title field, publisher field,
etc.). The Advanced Search is especially helpful if you are looking for specific
items or if you would like to create a precise search strategy.
- In the top Search for: box, type the search term(s) that
you would like to find. You can type one or more terms in each box.
Search terms can also be truncated to search for word variations.
- Click the adjacent all of these
dropdown list to select a search for all of these, any of these, or as a phrase.
- Click the adjacent Search by:
dropdown list to select the field (e.g.,
title, series, author, etc.) for limiting your search.
A keyword search will search anywhere in the record.
- Select the Boolean operator (and, or, or not) that you want
to apply to the search term(s). You can then type additional search
terms in the next Search for: box.
