| Place Request |
Penn faculty, students, staff, affiliates, and
courtesy borrowers may place a variety of requests directly from Franklin. Patrons
whose records are blocked for any reason will not be able to use the Request Menu.
For information on charge limits, fine limits, and other possible block reasons,
please see the appropriate patron group under Borrowing
Policies.
To place a request, first search for a specific work. Once you have displayed the
record page, click
on the Place Request button. If you already logged in to check your patron information,
you will see a Request Menu listing all the available options for your patron group.
If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to enter your Penn Library ID and
last name.
Each Request form includes instructions. You will need to re-enter your Penn Library ID
on each
request. Note that many types of requests require you to provide information in the Comments field. Failing to provide requested information will likely cause a delay in fulfilling your request. |

Recall from Current Borrower
Any borrower may recall a book that is charged to another
person. Penn Card holders, please note that it is often faster to use Borrow
Direct or E-Z Borrow to get a copy of a book than to wait for a recalled item to be returned. Only items
that are charged may be recalled. You can specify a copy to be recalled, or you
can place a general request for any copies that are charged using the title level
recall. The first copy returned will fulfill your request.
