Franklin User Guide - Looking for Videorecordings

The Library provides a separate catalog to videorecordings called VCat. Videorecordings are also found in Franklin. Within Franklin, you can limit your search to videorecordings using Quick Limits or All Search Limits. You can only limit Keyword, Title, and Relevance Ranked searches, so use one of these searches when you are searching for videorecordings.

Using Quick Limits:

Before searching, click on DVD/Videos
Search by title or keyword

Under All Search Limits:

Click on the All Search Limits icon
Go to Medium menu
Click on DVDs/Videos
Click on Set Limits icon and search as usual

Additional Search Methods:

Since all videos have the word "videorecording" in the record, you can add this term to a keyword search.

To pull up a browseable list of all videorecordings listed in Franklin, search on just the keyword:

To find foreign language films, use All Search Limits to limit searches to materials in a specific language.

In order to separate out the popular movies from documentaries, search on the subject heading

feature films

or add the phrase to a keyword search.
